About Kate

Headshot of Kate Schroeder, PLPC

Hi, I’m Kate Schroeder, PLPC, a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor offering warm, client-centered therapy for individuals, couples, and teens. My approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and gentle curiosity. I meet you exactly where you are and help you move toward clarity, balance, and healing. I believe that our bodies learn and adapt to our environment, often below our level of awareness, and finding a way to tune into what they are saying can help us grow. Each relationship and experience teaches us how to respond to future situations, which can keep us "stuck" in the same cycles and wondering how we can change. Attuning to your emotional wellness and strengthening relationships around you are important pieces of one's overall health and happiness.

As a former college athlete, I understand the pressures of high performance, identity shifts, and the mental challenges that come with competition and transition. That experience deeply informs my work. I bring the same mix of discipline, teamwork, and compassion to every counseling relationship. Something not always taught in sports is the importance of softness, slowing down, and prioritizing your own mental health, things I've had to learn along the way.

Whether you’re carrying anxiety, working through relationship challenges, supporting a teen, or processing difficult experiences, I provide a steady, non-judgmental space to feel seen and supported.

My Approach

I integrate evidence-based and trauma-informed care with mindfulness and strengths-based practices. Sessions are collaborative and paced to your comfort. We’ll set clear goals together and check in often.
